The Fig House Wedding Venue

The Fig House is an exquisite wedding venue between downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena. One of my favorite features of this wedding venue is the abundance of natural beauty combined with lush greenery and a charming midcentury and modern aesthetic. It’s both an outdoor and an indoor wedding venue that's full of personality and glamour, and can be designed to align with your unique wedding vision.

Who is this venue perfect for? The Fig House is your dream wedding venue if you’re looking for an elegant space that combines history and modern design, infusing nature and art with a touch of vintage charm. It is also perfect for your wedding ceremony and reception, as it offers ample indoor and outdoor space, allowing you and your guests to transition easily from the ceremony to the reception.

Something to note, this is not a full-service wedding venue, but they do offer you full-service catering and cocktails. Also, it’s an ideal venue for an elopement, an intimate wedding, or a grand celebration!

For your ceremony, you can choose between the indoor area, which features an open floor plan and modern design, or opt to tie the knot in their charming outdoor garden. This venue can accommodate up to 450 guests for a seated dinner and 700 guests for a cocktail-style reception. Additionally, it features a comfortable and spacious getting-ready room for you and your wedding party to enjoy.

If you would like to book The Fig House, I highly recommend doing so well in advance, as this is a highly sought-after venue. I suggest considering a fall or spring wedding date, as the colors of the venue are absolutely breathtaking during those seasons.

Which flowers go well with The Fig House?

As a florist, I, of course, have to talk about flowers and which ones I think best complement The Fig House! First, the Fig House is a chic and playful space with a bold and bright color palette, so any vibrant and colorful blooms would be a great choice. I personally love the idea of incorporating blooms such as peonies, bougainvillea, ranunculus, sweet pea, and dahlias. Any of these florals would look absolutely stunning in a bouquet of floral arrangement at this venue!

Also, The Fig House has a lot of beautiful abstract art throughout, so any large statement floral arrangements would also fit well within this space. One of the things I love most about this venue is that it truly embraces creativity and fun, allowing you to get really artsy and playful with the floral arrangements and blooms you choose.

I would also definitely suggest adding a floral arch for your ceremony and as a backdrop behind your wedding table. Some ot her great options would be floral arrangements for the aisle, trailing table flowers, and maybe even a floral hanging installation if you’re up for it and it matches your wedding aesthetic!

Jamie and Ashley’s Enchanting Wedding at The Fig House

If all of this has captured your attention, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at Jamie and Ashley’s wedding at The Fig House and how I came up with the designs and creative vision for their unique florals.

For Jamie and Ashley’s wedding, I designed a large, colorful floral arch for their table, bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, and corsages. When coming up with the creative vision for the arrangements, I decided to use larger floral arrangements and flowers to make a statement.

When you arrive at the Fig House, you’ll be immediately impressed with all the greenery encompassing the space. I knew right away I wanted to create floral arrangements that didn’t take away from the greenery, but still find a way to make the floral arrangements I created a focal point of their day.

The white and peach-colored florals I used complemented the greenery of The Fig House beautifully, adding contrast without clashing with the venue's colors. My goal from the beginning was to make sure that Jamie and Ashley’s floral statement flowers and arrangements didn’t feel random or look totally out of place. Instead, they were meant to have an intentional design behind them and fit within the space where I placed them, rather than creating chaos or distraction.
